![]() I beta test for Toontrack, so hopefully between us all we can get you up and running. The GOOD NEWS is that (after 3rd installation) the new Waves plugin has finally showed up in the NEW VST folder so it must have download different types - although I only saw Vst3. I'm pretty sure now that the plugins that were in there were only duplicates as I said. I think that as to why the folder was there one minute and then vanished will have to remain a mystery. I'll change the path and take note of the position aspect. Is not a valid path change it to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 so that it is that exact name of the path.Īnd, as that VST3 path is the last in the list, any VST3 files will take precedence over any same-named VSTs. In the VST path list C:\Program Files\Common Files\Vst3Plugins Your screenshot has a scroll bar, so I guess there are more plug-ins listed. I do not know what those "application extension" files would be - iZotope "helper" files, perhaps?Īnd Reaper does not, as far as I know, put anything in the VST3 folders. I am now getting the attached message when I open an existing projectĪs you have 16 VST files then that Waves VST3 is not your first one. When I first started download freebies I wasn't sure where they were going! But this is the first one that I have actually purchased and I didn't realise that it was a Vst3. Not sure to be truthful, all the one ones I had in there (as listed above) could just have been duplicates of other versions. is this Wave plug-in your first VST3 plug-in? My paths: C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugIns C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins C:\Program Files\Common Files\Vst3Plugins can you tell us all the paths listed, in order, in Reaper's Preferences / Plug-ins / VST? are you running Reaper 64-bit? Or 32-bit? and in C/Program Files (x86)/Common files/ VST3? Various other Reaper related files/ installation packages etc what files are there is C/Program Files/Common files/ VSTġ6 Vst3 files (probably Vst3 duplicates of other Vst's) ANd there is no need to uninstall Reaper when installing a different version. ![]() I meant Windows Explorer (or OSX Finder). Thanks everyone for your input but still frustrated as I have just bought a Waves Vst3 plugin and cannot use it! Is this necessary for a clean re install? I said in my first post that I had tried re installing Reaper but I did not Uninstall existing version first. C/Programme files/Common files/ VST3.ģ) When searching for Vst3 in Reaper's Search/Finder there are no resultsĥ) Both Vst3 and Vst3i are checked in the 'show in left hand pane option'. Problem: Vst3 folder has disappeared from the main Plugin access string.ġ) The correct Vst3 plugin path is in placeĢ) The VST3 folder is present in Windows i.e. ![]() So just to recap on the problem and the solutions put forward: Tried opening a new project but it's the same. So re installed Reaper but the VST3 folder still missing. On further investigation I find that my VST3 plugin folder has disappeared from the list along with everything in it! I have looked in preferences and Options but cannot find any reference to folders in this respect.
